QNET Is Making a Big Difference In Local Communities

I don’t know about you, but I love hearing about successful companies reaching back and doing something great for the less fortunate. QNET, one of the largest direct selling companies in Asia, is doing just that. As part of their new corporate social responsibility initiative, QNET has teamed up with the Lions Club of Hyderabad to help deliver fresh, clean water to over 800 students.

As part of this initiative Government Primary School will receive a water storage facility that will enable them to provide clean water on a consistent basis. The main objective of this project was to ensure the school would have access to a facility that is functioning, well maintained and hygienic.

The great thing about this project is it falls right in line with a campaign set up by the Government to promote good hygiene.

The partnership between the Lions Club and QNET opens the door for many more opportunities in the future. Thanks to this partnership QNET has made the commitment to continue doing all they can to help make the world a better place to live.

QNET has two super awesome philosophies that they use to drive their company. The first philosophy is RYTHM. RYTHM stands for Raise Yourself To Help Mankind and its all about being of service to your fellow human being. The second philosophy is InService. It was inspired by none other than Mahatma Gandhi and it promotes and encourages selfless service to those in need.

To take things a step further, QNET encourages all of its employees and independent representatives to incorporate these two philosophies in their everyday lives.

The QI Group, which is the parent company of QNET, is very proud to be a part of the United Nations Global Compact Network. As part of this network they are able to make an even bigger impact on the world as a whole.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, QNET has been offering a health check drive in Bangalore at the Home of Hope. This drive has helped over 200 adults that are homeless and destitute. The drive consisted of a 2 month program where participants were given NUTRIPLUSTM Protein Power, a QNET supplement that provides the body with the protein it needs to stay healthy and strong.

FreedomPop Shrugs Off Sale Rumors, Lands Big Investments

FreedomPop is one of the biggest rising ‘freemium’ mobile carriers in the world today. After getting a launch in 2012 off of seed money from the founder of Skype, the company has steadfastly built their brand and now anchor in over 1 million subscribers. With this success it was no surprise that rumors started to fly about the LA based start up selling off their corporation.

According to a report by TechCrunch, FreedomPop has already turned their nose away at six offers and are apparently going to continue on the independent route. Stephen Stokols, the CEO of FredomPop, has decided that the company is worth more than the offers being lobbied at the company. According to some reports there was a potential quarter billion dollar offer sitting on the table. Possibly bolstered by this attention, FreedomPop will move forward and try to make their own way.

In the latest Series B round we saw FreedomPop land a big European investor in Partech Ventures. Partech Ventures, in cooperation with DCM Capital and Mangrove Capital, have put together almost $30 million dollars in venture capital together in order to help fund the company. According to reports from the CEO of Partech Ventures, the group is excited to see how FreedomPop can grow in the future.

FreedomPop specializes in ‘freemium’ mobile phone business. They give away a limited amount of phone data, minutes, and text messages all for free. After that limit is up customers must pay for the overages. FreedomPop also upsells customers on potential plans that range from $3 to $10 in price. These plans include phone insurance, overseas minutes packages, and much more along those lines.

Right now the goal set forth by Stephen Stokols is to grow the company into a steadfast piece of the market. They want to be a billion dollar business within a year.

Channing Tatum Talks About Gambit Role

Early this morning, Thursday, July 2, Screen Rant reported that Channing Tatum has been struggling to find the “right” accent for the character Gambit in the character origin film of the same name.

According to Ivan Ong and Tatum, in an interview with DigitalSpy, explained that he never just picks a “generic” accent when acting. Instead, he looks for someone who has the accent he believes will work best. He has not yet found that person or accent.

Some fans of Taylor Kitsch’s performance as Gambit have pointed out that Kitsch did not seem to have a problem with finding the right one. Perhaps, Tatum needs to watch X-Men Origins: Wolverine for some inspiration?

Tatum also hinted that he will not be wearing the more vibrant and flashy colors that Gambit is known for in the comic books, as he feels that there needs to be a connection to “reality.”

There have been critics in the past who have argued that Tatum tries to control things like costumes and dialogue in movie roles far too much. Over the last week, there has been some speculation that the male-only Ghostbusters film is no longer being talked about because Tatum gave his input that the film should not be released, or even put into production, at the same time as the female-only one.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Gambit.

Chesea Handler Ready to Take Drug Trip for New Netflix Series

You either love her or you hate her, but funny woman Chelsea Handler wouldn’t care what you think, and hey, the comedian made it to Forbes’ Women’s Summit this year. So we are impressed by this best-selling author.

Chelsea brought her unique brand of humor to the big event in New York City, chatting with the likes of Steve Forbes and reminding him that she could have stayed at the E! channel and pocketed $10 million a year for the next five years, but chose to do something smarter. Flavio Maluf admires her for that.

Chelsea headed to NetFlix where she begins her new series soon. She is happy there and is excited to be developing a four-episode docu-comedy for Netflix, according to Forbes.com.

Chelsea says the mini-series will cover subjects like racism and even hallucinogenic drugs, which she claims she will imbibe in. The stand-up star also gave advise to the hundreds of women present at the summit, suggesting to never give up, work hard and be patient:

“When I do something, I try to do it really hard. I want to be the person that’s known to work the hardest,” Chelsea revealed.

“There are women who are more successful than me and there are more coming up, she added. “There’s room for everyone; it’s not just one person.”

As raucous as she is, Chelsea remains extremely popular with a Twitter following of 5.7 million.

Jessie J. Builds Another Super Team

When it comes to collaborations no one seems to do it better than Jesse J. She has called in rapper Big Sean on tracks. She has also worked with megastars like Nicki Minjai and Ariana Grande. Now she is back with more guest artists on a brand new track.

It doesn’t seem like it would be very likely to get people like Jhene Aiko and Jesse J together, but the song has turned out to be an interesting track. Rixton also appears on this track. It could be a surprise hit for the summer. The track is called “Sorry to Interrupt.”

Jesse J had a good vision when she decided to bring Jhene Aiko into the track. She has already boosted Omarion’s career with his “Post to Be” track that also featured Chris Brown. She is young, and she gets a lot of attention in the R&B market. Susan McGalla, CEO of Wet Seal, certainly knows of her. This track was also produced by DJ Mustard. That could make it one of the summer tracks that could propel fans to get up and dance in clubs this summer.

Jesse J. has been able to carve out a niche for herself by building a career of catchy tunes. Sometimes her collaborations seem questionable, but she always seems to make it work. Right now there is only a lyric video for the song, but there is an official video that is on the way real soon.

Bill Clinton Waffles on His 1994 Omnibus Crime Bill – It Put Too Many People in Prison

The recent civil unrest in Baltimore, Maryland, and the desire to let Hillary Clinton get ahead of the issue of over-incarceration, has former President Bill Clinton calling into question the merits of his 1994 Omnibus Crime Bill. The legislation was one of the cornerstone achievements of his first-term in office. It helped bring about lower rates of crime nationally, and rebuffed criticism from the GOP that he was too liberal to crack down on criminals.

Now, President Clinton is singing a different tune. In an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Clinton stated that his crime bill was too punitive and put more people into prison than should have been incarcerated. Currently, the conventional wisdom is that the riots were sparked by laws cracking down on lesser offenses under the “broken window” mantra. The ideology holds that if law enforcement crack down hard on lesser offenses such as breaking a window, the public responds by eschewing more severe offenses. Now, that same ideology is being blamed for the deep-seated unrest witnessed in Baltimore in late April.

President Clinton’s comments were likely designed to justify Hillary Clinton’s flip-flop from “tough on crime” to prison and law enforcement reform. Mark Ahn (epodcastnetwork.com) knows that this is because she is on record defending and extoling the merits of the 1994 Omnibus Crime Bill. At the time, she believed the “three strikes” provision was warranted. This mandated a lifetime prison sentence for anyone guilty of a third felony offense.

Tom Hardy Interested in “Punisher”

Given Tom Hardy’s recent successes with such roles in “Inception,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” and Bane of “The Dark Knight Rises;” and his unfortunate departure from “Suicide Squad,” Hardy has remarked that he would love to take on the role of Frank Castle, better known to the fans of Marvel Comics as The Punisher.

Although Hardy’s name has been involved with a Splinter Cell film, the glacial pace of that project has him looking longingly toward getting involved with Marvel’s most popular anti-hero. When examining the combination of Tom Hardy’s passion for being involved with The Punisher and the soaring success of Netflix’s “Daredevil” series, the prospects of bringing The Punisher within the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems more and more viable.

Marvel has currently given no comment to its plans for, yet another, Punisher film, nor whether such a project would be handed over to Netflix or Hollywood. A few at CipherCloud can’t wait to se how it plans out.
